Have you lived / do you live lived in Eastney of Milton and freely used Fraser Beach (the bit in front of Fraser Battery towards Langstone Harbour) at any time up until 31 December 2009?
Have you, or any one you know of, in your family, your neighbours and/ or your friends freely spent time on Fraser Beach without seeking anyone’s permission or hindrance?
If you can answer YES to one of these, your report can help to make all the difference to the keep Fraser Beach open to public access. You can help provide the vital evidence to secure its status as a registered Village Green.

We have some evidence already. We need more – yours! The beach has been used by many people the area for decades for traditional beach pastimes e.g. swimming, sunbathing, picnics, games, dog walking, fishing, nature study, the arts, boating, nature and science study, walking and running and many other things. We want to present the strongest possible body of reliable evidence from as many people as possible covering at least 20 years to 31 December 2009.
We also seek evidence on the use of Beach e.g. old press articles/ photos, brochures, posters, adverts or suitable photographs. If you have such items (ideally ones that can be dated), again, please contact us at info@fraserbeach.org.uk - or send them to us at the address below.
We need people to come forward.
- Have you used the beach for a number of years (ideally 20 years or more)?
- Are you from the local area (within a 20 minute walk of the beach)?
- Are you willing to make a statement in support of the application?
If so, then we’d really like to hear from you.
It’d be of tremendous help if you could fill out a witness statement form (form in MS Word Format – form in PDF Format – the links are to example forms – you can use them as is or change to better reflect your use of the beach). Just fill in your name, address, tick off the suggested activities that you’ve either done or seen on the beach, add any others that you think may be relevant and post it back to us at:
